NORMA Group to provide Formula Student Team of RWTH Aachen with engineered joining technology

Maintal, Germany, 3 September 2015 – NORMA Group, a global market leader in engineered joining technology, is sponsoring Ecurie Aix, the Formula Student Team of RWTH Aachen University, by providing quick connectors made of plastic. The team will be using NORMAQUICK PS3 quick connectors in the two electric motors and the cooling system of its formula racing car. The electric-powered car will be participating in the race of the international design competition Formula Student.

“We are always happy to support the training and development of talented young people,” said Werner Deggim, CEO of NORMA Group. “We are pleased to see that our products are being used in connection with this ambitious project, in which everything revolves around innovation and efficiency,” he added.

“We are excited about NORMA Group´s products,” said Tobias Schlösser of Ecurie Aix. “Connecting and disconnecting the hoses to the engine would be very difficult without these connectors. In addition, each kilogram less is of high value in motorsport. Therefore, we are always interested in cutting weight – this can be achieved extremely well with the weight-reduced products from NORMA Group.”

In the Formula Student, teams of students from international universities compete against each other. The aim of the competition is to develop and manufacture a Formula racing car that meets the highest demands in terms of driving dynamics, racing prowess and energy efficiency. Formula Student Germany was launched in 2006 to complement the studies of the participants with practical experience in engineering and economic aspects of the automotive industry.
