NORMA Group receives Volvo Cars Quality Excellence Award

Pilica, Poland, April 12, 2017 – NORMA Group, a global market leader in engineered joining technology, has been honored by Volvo Car Corporation as an outstanding supplier for the first time. The Volvo Cars Quality Excellence (VQE) Award was presented for excellent performance in the areas of quality, logistics, customer service and other criteria. NORMA Group in Poland has been supplying systems for oil and cooling water transport among other products to Volvo Car Corporation for the past eight years.

Urszula Witkowska, Managing Director of NORMA Group in Poland, received the award at Volvo Car Corporation’s headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. “Receiving this award is truly a great honor. The award encourages us even more to continue to provide the best possible service to our customers in the future as well,” she said.

Around 550 employees at the Pilica site manufacture numerous joining products made of plastic, such as quick connectors, urea, oil and gasoline lines, as well as ventilation hoses. Last year, the company received Platinum Supplier Status 2015 from General Motors Company as an outstanding supplier. Besides the plant in Pilica, other NORMA Group plants, in Germany, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Serbia, among other countries, manufacture products for Volvo.

Volvo Car Corporation has been presenting the VQE Award to suppliers that have performed excellently in numerous areas since 2012. These include, among others, product quality, production processes, reliability and continuous improvement. For instance, no defects or customer complaints are allowed to have occurred during the period assessed.
