NORMA Group fuel transport systems reduce weight of new motorcycle model

Maintal, Germany, August 17, 2016 – NORMA Group, a global market leader in engineered joining technology, is supplying Fuel Transport Tube Systems (FTS) for a new model of an Italian motorcycle manufacturer on a serial basis. The plastic lines connect the supply and return of the electronically controlled fuel injection in the motorcycle.

The motorcycle from the Italian manufacturer has greatly reduced trim. The total weight of the motorcycle has thus been reduced to only about 180 kilograms with a displacement of 1,200 cubic cm and about 150 hp. The weight-reduced NORMA Group transport tube systems also contribute to this.

The trend is increasingly moving towards lighter internal components in motorcycles as well as motor vehicles and this also applies for joining products,” says Werner Deggim, CEO of NORMA Group. “After all, less weight puts more power on the road and at the same time decreases energy consumption and emissions.”

NORMA Group Fuel Transport Tube Systems (FTS) are made of a weight-reduced material. The tube systems are ready for installation and known for their quick and easy installation. The systems are suited to be used with the NORMA Group Quick Connectors.
