Employees get involved in social projects on NORMA Help Day

Maintal, Germany, September 23, 2024

NORMA Group employees participated in a range of social and environmental projects as part of NORMA Help Day. They volunteered their time to support various local social institutions and associations.

“NORMA Help Day is an excellent opportunity to promote social responsibility in the communities around our sites”, says Miriam Reith from NORMA Group’s Corporate Responsibility department. “Several hundred colleagues around the world enthusiastically participate in this event every year. NORMA Help Day is an integral part of our corporate responsibility activities.”

In Maintal, NORMA Group employees organized an outing to a local café for residents of the Maintal senior center. Another group actively helped a day care center maintain its garden.

Monika Böttcher, Mayor of Maintal, praised the volunteers' commitment during a visit: “Through their active involvement in local institutions, NORMA Group employees make a valuable contribution to shaping our city. It’s great to see how strongly they identify with our city.”

NORMA Help Day has been held at the company’s headquarters in Maintal since 2014, and since then has grown to become an annual global initiative at all sites. In Sweden, participants took part in a charity run and also made a donation to a Swedish heart and lung foundation. In Malaysia, the employees cleaned the public areas around the plant. Further volunteering activities will take place at many of the company’s other sites in the weeks ahead.
