NORMA Group has won a major contract in the industrial applications business. The company is supplying one of the largest home improvement and hardware retail chains in the US. This home improvement retailer will purchase more than five million BREEZE worm drive hose clamps per year for distribution in its home improvement stores. NORMA Group is thus continuously expanding its market share in the DIY segment in the US. The aim is to strengthen the industrial business and generate further growth.

NORMA Group has won a major order from an industrial customer to supply almost three million dishwashers with custom-made metal TORRO clamps annually starting in the fourth quarter of 2024. The customer is a leading global manufacturer of home appliances. NORMA Group is currently expanding its business with industry applications and aims to generate a larger share of sales in this area in the medium term. 

NORMA Group intends to focus even more strongly on its core business as a market leader for joining technology. The Management Board decided to initiate a divestment process for the global business activities of the strategic business unit Water Management.

NORMA Group has recognized three of its suppliers for outstanding quality and first-class delivery performance in 2023 with the “Supplier Recognition Award”. The awarded partners are Ascend Performance Materials LLC (“Ascend”) in China, Norder Band AG (“Norder Band”) in Germany and Olympic Steel (“Olympic”) in the USA.

NORMA Group, a market leader in engineered joining technology, has won a patent lawsuit it had filed against a Chinese competitor. The Supreme People’s Court in Beijing ruled at the end of June 2024 that a product from Suzhou Shengnuo Connection Technology Co. Ltd (“Shengnuo”) infringes on a NORMA Group patent for an advanced worm-drive hose clamp. The competitor has been prohibited from manufacturing or selling this clamp. Shengnuo must also pay damages to NORMA Group. The verdict is final.

NORMA Group employees participated in a range of social and environmental projects as part of NORMA Help Day.  “Several hundred colleagues around the world enthusiastically participate in this event every year. NORMA Help Day is an integral part of our corporate responsibility activities.”

NORMA Group is welcoming ten new apprentices today. Over the course of the next two to three and a half years, the secondary school graduates will undergo training at company headquarters in Maintal to become highly sought-after professionals. The new recruits include three future tool mechanics and two prospective machine and plant operators. Also among the apprentices beginning their apprenticeship is a specialists for warehouse logistics, an industrial clerk and three mechatronics technician.

NORMA Group has been recognized by General Motors, Paccar and Ashok Leyland for its outstanding supplier performance in 2023. The company was presented with the “Supplier Quality Excellence Award 2023” from General Motors and the "PACCAR Quality Achievement Award" from Paccar. NORMA Group also received the “Platinum Award” by Ashok Leyland.

NORMA Group has been awarded a major contract to equip a new platform for small to medium electric passenger cars with lightweight tubes for the battery thermal management system. The customer’s vehicle platform encompasses several car models and targets to enable efficient city mobility. The contract is worth more than EUR 30 million. Starting in December 2026, NORMA Group will deliver around 1.4 million tubes to the customer per year.

Today, NORMA Group SE held its Annual General Meeting today as an in-person event in Frankfurt/Main. The shareholders approved all items on the agenda by a wide majority. A total of around 79.0 percent of NORMA Group SE’s share capital was represented at the Annual General Meeting, including votes submitted by mail.

NORMA Group received a Supply Chain Performance Achievement certificate in 2022, following the award for 2021. At the same time, NORMA Group was also maintaining its Boeing Premier Bidder Status – which opens up further business opportunities with Boeing.

NORMA Group helped out on a range of social and ecological projects as part of a voluntary work assignment at the NORMA Help Day. For one day, employees at the sites around the world volunteered their time to lend a hand in the neighborhood.

NORMA Group welcomes today, at the start of the training year, thirteen apprentices and one dual student. Over the course of the next two to three and a half years, the secondary school graduates will be trained to become in-demand specialists at the company’s headquarters in Maintal. The thirteen apprentices include four machine and plant operators and three future specialists for warehouse logistics. Two apprentices are training to become industrial clerks. Also starting their apprenticeships are two mechatronics technician, one process mechanic and one tool mechanic. One of the young adults will also complete the dual course of study in mechanical engineering culminating in a Bachelor of Engineering degree.

NORMA Group SE has concluded its financing with a platform-based promissory note with sustainability components. Total volume of the financing is €120 million. As in previous transactions, the company is working to consistently implement its sustainability strategy.

NORMA Group is supporting FaSTDa Racing, the student racing team at Hochschule Darmstadt, University of Applied Sciences, by providing a cooling system for their electric racing car. Development engineers and employees from NORMA Group’s prototype construction department helped the students select components and fit the line system. NORMA Group made its workshop facilities in the prototype construction department available so that the team could install the cooling system.

NORMA Group expands its production capacities for water management solutions. Its US subsidiary NDS, a specialist for irrigation and stormwater management, has opened a new plant on May 4. The site is located in Lithia Springs, Georgia, near Atlanta. At the new plant, NORMA Group manufactures access boxes for irrigation systems and stormwater products.

NORMA Group welcomed a group of school children at its plant in Maintal today. As part of the Germany-wide Girls’ and Boys’-Day, seven girls and three boys had a chance to learn all about the many apprenticeships and dual courses of study offered by NORMA Group at its Maintal site.

Effective June 1, 2023, Guido Grandi (51) will become CEO of NORMA Group. The Supervisory Board of NORMA Group today appointed him as the future Chairman of the Management Board. Currently, Miguel Ángel López Borrego (58) is acting as interim CEO. As from June 1, 2023, he will resume his position as a member of the Supervisory Board of NORMA Group.

Heymann succeeds Dr. Friedrich Klein (60), who will step down from the Management Board on April 30, 2023. The Supervisory Board and Dr. Friedrich Klein have mutually agreed that, in accordance with his own wishes, Dr. Klein will step down from his position on the Management Board and as COO early.

Employees of NORMA Group in Maintal made an active contribution at this year’s NORMA Help Day and helped refurbish the youth center in the Dörnigheim district.

NORMA Group has put a fifth plant into operation in China. The site is located in Guangzhou in the Guangdong province in southern China, strategically positioned near Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) and other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) of electric vehicles. At the new plant, NORMA Group manufactures and assembles thermal management systems for battery-electric vehicles (BEV) and plug-in hybrid cars (PHEV).

NORMA Group has secured two major orders from leading automotive manufacturers in China with a total value of around EUR 5,6 million. The company will supply thermal management systems for electric passenger vehicles. By 2029, around 350,000 electric cars for the Chinese market will be equipped with systems from NORMA Group in the scope of the contracts.

NORMA Group is equipping the gardens of a new residential development in Istanbul with an extremely durable and efficient irrigation system. The NORMA PC drip irrigation system uses up to 70 percent less water than the more conventional water-intensive solutions currently available on the market, resulting in efficient and resource-friendly irrigation.

NORMA Group has presented Suzhou Yugoo Fasten System Co.,Ltd. (Suzhou Yugoo) with its “Supplier Recognition Award”. With this award, NORMA Group recognizes the supplier for their outstanding performance in the areas of delivery time, service and quality in 2021.

NORMA Group held its Annual General Meeting today. A substantial majority of the Annual General Meeting voted in favor of the distribution of a dividend of 75 cents per share, in line with the proposal of NORMA Group's Supervisory Board and Management Board. This corresponds to a distribution volume of about EUR 23.9 million.

NORMA Group has launched a sales partnership with Kanok Products Co., Ltd. ("Kanok"), a Thai company specializing in agricultural irrigation systems. Kanok has been supplying customers in Thailand with compression fittings for agricultural applications on behalf of NORMA Group since March 2022. The cooperation strengthens NORMA Group’s water management business in the Asia-Pacific region.

NORMA Group has developed a new digital water timer. The Raindrip brand digital water timer helps automatic irrigation systems save water when used instead of manual watering. Especially in combination with a drip irrigation system, it can save up to 70 percent of water consumption compared to conventional irrigation systems.

Today, NORMA Group welcomed a group of adolescents at its plant in Maintal. As part of the Germany-wide Girls' and Boys'-Day, six girls and four boys learned all about the diverse range of apprenticeships and dual courses of study offered by NORMA Group at its Maintal site.

NORMA Group is cutting its 2022 CO₂ emissions by roughly 80 percent as compared with the prior year. With the switch to green electricity at a number of locations throughout the world, NORMA Group is reducing its CO₂ emissions from around 44,000 tons in 2021 to an expected level of less than 10,000 tons in 2022. Production and sales sites have been gradually switching to green electricity over the past few years. Since January 2022, all sites worldwide have been sourcing electricity from renewable sources.

NORMA Group has developed a new compression fitting for the European market for use in drinking water applications. The NORMA MARLIN PN16 compression fitting (NORMA MARLIN) meets the strict requirements of EU member states for drinking water applications and can therefore be used in numerous areas, including drinking water installations, irrigation and sanitary systems as well as other industrial applications.

NORMA Group enables its employees at the Maintal and Marsberg locations to lease bicycles through their employer at special conditions. Employees can do something for their health, support emission-free mobility and save money at the same time.

NORMA Group has entered into a strategic partnership with SAB S.p.A (“SAB”), an Italian specialist in joining technology for drinking water, irrigation and drainage. From November 2021, SAB will produce high-quality NORMA PN 16 compression fittings certified for drinking water applications for NORMA Group. Further products are to follow. In addition, the agreement reached stipulates that NORMA Group and SAB will jointly develop new products. With this cooperation, NORMA Group is strengthening its water management business in Europe and, in particular, further expanding its position in the field of drinking water applications.

Miguel Ángel López Borrego has been appointed a new member of the Supervisory Board of NORMA Group SE with effect from March 16, 2021, after being proposed by the Supervisory Board and the Management Board.

NORMA Germany GmbH, a NORMA Group company, has donated 50 used computers to the city of Maintal. These are fully functional desktop computers, laptops and workstations. The city of Maintal will distribute them to municipal institutions such as children’s and youth facilities as well as for the youth work of the Asylum Working Group. The Mayor of Maintal, Monika Böttcher, accepted the devices from Managing Director Grit Schieborowsky at NORMA Germany’s plant grounds in Maintal-Hochstadt. The fire department supported the handover of the donation and transported the equipment.

The company received the “Master of Quality Award” from Daimler Buses Mexico and the “PACCAR Quality Award” from PACCAR. With the awards, NORMA Group was honored for its outstanding performance as a supplier in 2020.

NORMA Group is introducing Raindrip RootWise™, a 360° precision irrigation pad, a product for a completely new irrigation method. The pad consists of a geotextile fabric that drip tubes with integrated emitters have been incorporated into. Raindrip RootWise™ is placed around the plant and ensures that water is delivered directly to the root zone. This reduces evaporation and the plants are optimally supplied with water. Compared to conventional irrigation methods, such as sprinklers, drip irrigation can save up to 80 percent water.

NORMA Group began providing Corona vaccinations for employees through the company doctor at the Maintal site this week. A total of 12 people were vaccinated at the plant's medical station last Tuesday. With a workforce of just under 700 at its Maintal location, the company has been allocated a total of 96 doses of the vaccine, all of which are to be deployed by the end of next week.

NORMA Group has been awarded first place in the “Equal Opportunities” category of the “German Award for Sustainability Projects 2021” for its NORMA Clean Water aid project. With NORMA Clean Water, the company has been working in cooperation with the children's aid organization Plan International in India and Brazil for many years to improve the water supply and ensure equal opportunities.

NORMA Group has presented its “Supplier Recognition Award” for the Americas region to P.J. Spring Company, Inc. (“P.J. Spring”). The company received the award for its outstanding performance in the areas of supply chain, quality and cost in 2020.

NORMA Group, a global market leader in engineered joining technology, has presented its “Supplier Recognition Award” for the Asia-Pacific region to Shanghai Yikeda Automotive Spare Parts Co., LTD (“Yikeda”). The company received the award for its outstanding performance in 2020 in the areas of quality, delivery and service.

NORMA Group again certifies its site in Lindsay, California in accordance with ISO 14001. The plant received certification for the continuous improvement of its environmental management system for the development and production of various water management solutions. The certification demonstrates that NORMA Group is consistently pursuing its goal of certifying all of its production sites in accordance with the internationally-recognized ISO 14001 standard. 24 of 26 production sites are currently certified in accordance with ISO 14001.

NORMA Group is equipping the electricity and fiber optic connection to an offshore fish farm system in the Norwegian North Sea with ABA Original SMO hose clamps. The clamps will be used 40 kilometers outside the coast of Tromsø and form a key element of the subsea cable bend restrictor system. The clamps will be used to secure the cable kink protection seal.

NORMA Group welcomed five new apprentices at the company headquarters in Maintal yesterday to kick off the new training year. Three of them will be doing two-year apprenticeships as machine and plant operators and two will be trained as mechatronics technicians over a period of three-and-a-half years.

The Supervisory Board of NORMA Group has appointed Annette Stieve the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will serve on the Management Board. She will be responsible for the area of finance in her new role. Annette Stieve will assume this position by October 1, 2020, at the latest.

Today, the Supervisory Board of NORMA Group has elected the longstanding member Günter Hauptmann as its Chairman from among its members. He succeeds Lars Berg who resigns from his role as Chairman and member of the Supervisory Board with effect as of end of August 31, 2020, due to health reasons.

NORMA Group, a global market leader in engineered joining technology, presented its “Supplier Recognition Award” for the Asia-Pacific region to Hangzhou Haiming Iron & Steel Co, Ltd. (Hangzhou Haiming) on August 12, 2020. In doing so, NORMA Group has honored the company for its outstanding performance in 2019 in the areas of quality, delivery and costs.

NORMA Group has donated 500 face shields to the medical staff of St. Vinzenz Hospital in Hanau. The NORMA Face Shield protects the wearer’s eye area against droplets and splashes of liquids. Worn in addition to mouth and nose protection, it further reduces the risk of droplet infection.

These grass pavers are mainly used in car parking spaces, fire department access roads and golf courses and represent a sustainable alternative to traditional paving methods. Since they protect the root zone and prevent soil compaction, grass can also grow in places where normally impermeable materials such as bricks or asphalt are used. The school graduates begin their apprenticeships in four different professions that require vocational training at the company’s headquarters in Maintal. The apprenticeship as machine and plant operator will take two years and the apprenticeship as mechatronics technician, industrial mechanic and tool mechanic each three and a half years.

NORMA Group has won a major order by an international car manufacturer to deliver PS3 quick connectors for cooling water systems. Up to 3.6 million cars are to be equipped every year from 2021 to 2023. John Stephenson, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of NORMA Group, left the company at his own request on January 31. During the transitional phase, Bernd Kleinhens, Chairman of the Management Board of NORMA Group, will take over the duties of COO until the position can be refilled. John Stephenson has headed NORMA Group’s operative business as a member of the Management Board since 2009 and established APAC’s strong structure during his time as President of the Asia-Pacific region from 2011 to 2014. The Management Board position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be refilled.

The Supervisory Board of NORMA Group SE has appointed Dr. Friedrich Klein as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Dr. Klein will manage the business operations of NORMA Group SE together with CEO Bernd Kleinhens and CFO Dr. Michael Schneider. He will assume his new role on October 1, 2018.

At today’s Annual General Meeting of NORMA Group SE in Frankfurt/Main, Dr. Stefan Wolf was voted down as Chairman of the Supervisory Board with 50.41% of the votes against him. The Supervisory Board elected Lars Magnus Berg as his successor. Mr. Berg has been Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of NORMA Group SE for many years. Erika Schulte was elected as his Deputy. To further expand its market position in the water management business, NORMA Group signed an agreement to acquire Kimplas Piping Systems Ltd. (“Kimplas”) on April 6, 2018.
